Job Title: Mental Health Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Nurses to provide specialized care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and families to support patient recovery, crisis management, and long-term mental well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients with mental health conditions and develop care plans
- Administer medications and monitor their effects
- Support patients through therapeutic communication and crisis intervention
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatments, and coping strategies
- Maintain detailed documentation and patient records
- Ensure patient safety in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling under supervision
- Support discharge planning and referrals to community services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
- Licensed or eligible for registration with a Canadian provincial nursing body (e.g., CNO, CRPNM, BCCNM)
- Specialization or experience in mental health, psychiatry, or behavioral health
- Valid language proficiency test results (IELTS or CELBAN) for licensure
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment approaches
- Excellent communication, de-escalation, and patient advocacy skills
- Compassionate and resilient in high-stress environments
Salary Range:
CAD $35 – $48 per hour (depending on province and experience)
Annual Estimate: CAD $70,000 – $95,000+
