Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. You will assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapy services to enhance their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ physical, emotional, developmental, and psychological condition.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical findings.
- Help patients improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities and compensate for permanent loss of function.
- Instruct patients and caregivers on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to improve performance of daily activities.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and physicians.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards and policies.
- Participate in case conferences, in-service training, and continuous education activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).
- NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (may be required).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in [hospital, outpatient, pediatric, geriatric, mental health, or home care settings—customize as needed].
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Work Environment:
- May involve standing for extended periods, lifting patients or equipment, and working in various clinical settings.
- May require travel to patient homes or offsite facilities depending on job setting.
