Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our medical imaging team. The Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, assisting physicians in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions. This role requires excellent technical skills, patient care, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of imaging quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure comfort and safety throughout the exam.
  • Analyze sonographic images, identify normal and abnormal imaging results, and provide preliminary findings to radiologists or referring physicians.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, exam documentation, and ensure proper data entry into PACS and EMR systems.
  • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of ultrasound room and equipment.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • Certification: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or eligible; RVT, OB/GYN, Abdomen certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates may be considered.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in operating ultrasound machines and related software.
    • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations with professionalism.

Working Conditions:

  • May require standing for long periods and assisting patients in mobility.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts may be required.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids in a clinical setting.
