Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician / Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings for optimal image quality.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Review and analyze images, identifying abnormalities for physician evaluation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.
- Certification from Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS preferred.
- Valid license or registration in the province of employment.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Hospital or clinic setting
- May require standing for extended periods
- May involve evening or weekend shifts, depending on schedule
